- Open the file you want to share (photo, video, document, etc.).
- Tap the “Share” icon (usually three connected dots).
- Select “Quick Share” from the sharing options.
- Choose the device you want to share with from the list of available devices.
- If the device you want to share with isn't listed, you can generate a QR code from within Quick Share for the other person to scan.
Receiving files is just as easy:
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned on and your screen is unlocked. (If the sender is not in your contacts, you need to set your visibility (as a receiver) to "everyone" or "temporary everyone"). Alternatively, you can ask them to generate a QR code and simply scan it.
- You’ll receive a notification asking you to accept or decline the transfer.
- If both devices are logged into the same Google Account, the file will be accepted automatically.
On some devices, you can even share content directly from your clipboard using Quick Share. It’s good to keep in mind that sharing files at the same time is only available on certain devices.
