Ever found yourself in a situation where you don't know how to find your phone number or email address on your phone? This can be very handy when you want to share your details with someone else. In this article, we explain how to check your phone number on an Android smartphone, as well as how to check your email address depending on your email provider.

How can I find my phone number on my phone?

You can check the phone number of your Android smartphone using menu options like "Device Information" or "Terminal Information". Here’s one way to check it:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app
  2. Tap [Device Information] to display your device's details
  3. Your phone number will be displayed in the "Phone Number" field on the information screen

Another way to check is to use Google Assistant, which is installed on your Android smartphone:

  1. Say "Ok Google" or press and hold the power button to launch Google Assistant
  2. When Google Assistant launches, ask: "What’s my phone number?"
  3. Tap [Device Information] to display your device's details
  4. Your phone number will be displayed in the "Phone Number" field on the information screen

To find out about Android device requirements for using Google Assistant, see "Set up Google Assistant on your phone or tablet" in the Help Centre.

Note: How you check your phone number on your phone may differ depending on the model of smartphone you are using and the OS version.

Please note that if Gemini is set as the default assistant (as is the case for some newer devices), this might not work, as Gemini cannot access your phone number.

Types of emails that can be used on your smartphone.

The method for checking your email address on an Android phone depends on the type of email you are using.

You’ll need to know this before you can check your email address . See below for our broad introduction to the types of emails you can access on your Android.

Gmail.

Gmail is an email service provided by Google. The Gmail app is pre-installed on Android smartphones. The service provides a total of 15 GB of free storage across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. It is one of the most user-friendly email options for Android smartphones. Gmail email addresses consist of two parts. The part before the @ is chosen by you when creating the email address (usually your name or nickname), and the part after the @ is "@gmail.com".

Carrier Email.

Carrier email is an email service provided by a mobile service provider and is often supplied when you sign up for a contract with them . Carrier email addresses consist of two parts. The part before the @ will be set to an initial email address which you can change to what you want (usually your name or nickname). The part after the @ is determined by the provider. If you change your carrier, your email address might change as well. If you choose to use the "Email Carrier Service", you can continue to use the email address you used with your previous provider.

Other Emails.

On Android smartphones, you can use personal emails such as free email services and provider email, as well as corporate email accounts provided by an employer. The part after the @ symbol, usually includes the provider name, company name, or personal name as the domain name.

These emails can be accessed via your smartphone's browser, a dedicated email app, and the Gmail app. If you are using the Gmail app, you can verify your email address using the method explained later.

To learn how to use a non-Gmail email account in the Gmail app, please refer to "Use Gmail features with other email accounts" in the Help Centre.

How to check your email address.

The email address you use on your smartphone will usually be confirmed when you create a new email, or shown on the service page where you acquired the domain. It may also appear in the recipient line or sender line of received or sent emails.

If you're using a free email service, provider email service, or a corporate email service, you can try checking your email address using one of the methods described. If you still can't find your email address, check the help site of your email service.

Let's take a closer look at how to verify your Gmail and carrier email addresses.
