Switch to a phone that feels like you.

Your favourite apps, photos, chats, and more come too, with Android Switch.1

Ready to switch? Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Prepare your devices.

Make sure both devices are turned on and charged to at least 80%.

Turn off FaceTime (Settings > FaceTime > Turn off FaceTime) and iMessage on your iPhone (Settings > Messages > Turn off iMessage). Deregister it so you do not miss a notification.

Step 2: Activate your SIM & sign in.

Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your SIM, add your Google Account, and set up biometrics.

Step 3: Connect both devices using a cable.

The on-screen instructions will prompt you to connect your cable, which may be a Lightning cable to USB-C or a USB-C to USB-C. Connect the devices.

Your device may give you the option to transfer wirelessly. We recommend you use a cable in order to transfer the most data types from iOS to Android. If you do not have a cable, you can use the Android Switch app to transfer wirelessly.

An Android phone screen with the title, “Connect both devices” and “Use the cable that came with your iPhone or iPad” under it. There’s a graphic of 2 phones connected by a multicolour cord.

Step 4: Select the data you want to transfer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to choose what data types you want to transfer, including contacts, photos, messages, and more. Hit “copy” at the bottom of the screen when you’re done.

An Android phone screen with the title, “Choose what to copy” and the words, “About 2 minutes” under it. There’s a list of things to copy that are all check: Contacts, Photos, Messages, Message attachments, etc.”

Step 5: Get to know your phone while data transfers.

That’s it! Your data transfers while you get to know your phone.7

Note: Messages can take up to 48 hours to appear after data transfer is completed.

An Android phone screen with the title, “Copying your data…” and “Keep devices connected and turned on” under it. There is a progress bar of how much has been copied as well as a blue square, an outline of a square with a red gear icon in the middle, a yellow triangle, and a green pill-shaped icon.
