Ready to switch? Here's how to do it:

Step 1

Prepare your devices.

Make sure that both devices are turned on and charged to at least 80%.

Turn off FaceTime (Settings > FaceTime > turn off FaceTime) and iMessage on your iPhone (Settings > Messages > turn off iMessage). Deregister it so that you don't miss a notification.

Step 2

Activate your SIM and sign in.

Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your SIM, add your Google Account and set up biometrics.

Step 3

Connect both devices using a cable.

The on-screen instructions will prompt you to connect your cable, which may be a Lightning cable, to USB-C or a USB-C to USB-C. Connect the devices.

Your device may give you the option to transfer wirelessly. We recommend that you use a cable in order to transfer the most data types from iOS to Android. If you don't have a cable, you can use the Android Switch app to transfer wirelessly.

Step 4

Select the data that you want to transfer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to choose what data types you want to transfer, including contacts, photos, messages and more. Hit 'copy' at the bottom of the screen when you're done.

Step 5

Get to know your phone while data transfers.

That's it! Your data transfers while you get to know your phone.⁷

Note: Messages can take up to 48 hours to appear after data transfer is completed.

Pixel Samsung

If you use Google Password Manager, you're in luck! It's already installed on your new device. If you store passwords or passkeys in another password manager:

Download your password manager
Go to settings and tap 'Passwords and accounts' (or search 'passwords')
Switch the toggle next to the password manager that you want to enable

If you used iCloud to store your passwords or passkeys, you will need to log in to your apps and services manually.

If you previously backed up data with Google One, you can restore content, data and settings from an old device, even when you don't have it any more. While setting up, skip 'set up using another device' and choose to restore data from an old device.

Make sure that you connect to a Wi-Fi network and sign in to your Google Account during device setup to view and select your available backups.

If you want to transfer your data from iCloud to your Google Account, visit privacy.apple.com to request a copy of your iCloud photos and videos. Then, you can upload that data to your Google Account.

On your Android phone, Backup by Google One allows you to seamlessly back up the photos, videos, contacts and messages most important to you, with up to 15 GB of secure cloud storage included in your Google Account. You may also subscribe to Google One for even more storage and helpful features from Google products.
